About Us

Our Story

Born from a Shared Belief in the Power of Healthy Soil

SoilBiome.ai was founded on a simple but powerful idea: the key to sustainable agriculture lies beneath our feet. Healthy soil teems with billions of microorganisms — bacteria, fungi, archaea — that drive nutrient cycling, suppress disease, and support plant productivity. Yet most land managers have no visibility into this hidden ecosystem.

We set out to change that. By combining next-generation DNA sequencing with AI-powered bioinformatics, SoilBiome.ai gives farmers, researchers, and land managers unprecedented insight into the microbial communities that determine soil health. Our platform translates complex genomic data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive better outcomes for land and livelihoods.

Based in Victoria, Australia, we work with agricultural communities, research institutions, and land management organisations across the country to make soil microbiome intelligence accessible, affordable, and genuinely useful.

“We see a future where every farming decision is informed by the microbial intelligence of the soil itself — where genomics and AI work together to restore and sustain the land that feeds us.”
Joe Finneran Co-Founder & Agricultural Director

What Drives Us

Our mission is to make soil microbiome science accessible and actionable for everyone who works the land.

Our Mission

To deliver comprehensive, AI-powered soil microbiome intelligence that empowers farmers, researchers, and land managers to make evidence-based decisions for healthier, more productive soils.

Our Vision

A future where every hectare of agricultural land is managed with full understanding of its microbial ecosystem — driving a more sustainable, resilient, and productive farming sector across Australia and beyond.

Our Approach

We bridge the gap between cutting-edge genomic science and practical on-farm application. Our reports are designed for action, not just analysis — translating complex data into clear soil management guidance.

Meet the Team

Led by specialists in molecular biology and sustainable agriculture, our team combines scientific rigour with practical farming outcomes.

How We Work

A collaborative, science-first approach that puts your soil outcomes at the centre of everything we do.

01

Consult

We start by understanding your land, your goals, and your challenges. Every project is designed around your specific soil context.

02

Sample

We provide sampling kits and clear protocols. You collect from your sites, we handle the cold-chain logistics and lab processing.

03

Analyse

Dual-platform NGS sequencing and AI-powered bioinformatics decode your soil's full microbial profile with species-level resolution.

04

Act

We deliver interactive reports with clear management recommendations — not just data, but guidance you can implement immediately.
